A 76-year-old man from Whippingham has appeared in court charged with making almost 145,000 indecent images of children and possessing extreme bestiality material.
Peter Kirby, of Folly Lane, appeared before magistrates this morning (Friday) charged with 5 offences alleged to have taken place in East Cowes between February 2019 and March 2023.
The court heard that Kirby is accused of making 986x Category A indecent images of children, 1,227x Category B images and a staggering 142,265x Category C images.
He also faces an allegation of possessing 5 prohibited images of a child and a further charge relating to an extreme pornographic image portraying an act of intercourse/oral sex with a dead/alive animal.
No pleas were entered during the brief hearing, in which Kirby stood in the dock with his arms crossed.
Magistrates adjourned the case to the Isle of Wight Crown Court, where a plea and trial preparation hearing is due to take place on 13th July 2026.
Disgusting thing, why is he not in prison as he’s obviously done it before! Things like him don’t deserve to breathe the same air as us humans. Makes me sick to my stomach.
