A pair of golfers from Shanklin and Sandown have been crowned champions out of 35 pairs after competing in the Isa Ballard Rosebowls competition last weekend (Sunday).
The competition was a great success with 35 pairs competing in the annual Isle of Wight Ladies Golf Association’s Isa Ballard Rosebowls competition at Osborne Golf Club.
Viv Tomlinson and Jacky Cook, representing Shanklin and Sandown Golf Club, emerged as winners with an impressive score of 46 points.
Home club members Ann Geary and Melanie Cross, from Osborne Golf Club, finished in second place with 44 points.
Third place went to Cowes Golf Club pair Jude Ferris and Maggie Ankers, who recorded 41 points and secured their podium finish on countback.
Jean Langley of Osborne Golf Club and Kathy Elliott from Shanklin and Sandown Golf Club also finished on 41 points, alongside Hazel Smith and Ronnie Hirst of Shanklin and Sandown.
Prizes were presented following the competition by Isle of Wight Ladies Golf Association President Maggie Ankers.
