3 Wight Eagles Girls FC players have been invited to join Portsmouth’s Junior Premier League programme.
Evalyn, Nina and Gracie-Mae, who have all played for the club’s Under-12 side, have been selected after impressing with their performances and commitment over recent seasons.
The trio have been an important part of a successful Wight Eagles team and will now have the opportunity to continue their football development at the next level with Portsmouth’s JPL set-up.
Under-12 manager Tom paid tribute to the players, saying:
“Three of our Under-12 players have been invited to join Portsmouth.
“Evalyn, Nina and Gracie-Mae have been a huge part of our successful team over the last few years and they are going to be hard to replace.
“We wish them all the best in their future endeavours.”
He added:
“Their progression is a testament to the hard work and dedication they have shown, as well as the support of their families and coaches.
“Wight Eagles Girls FC is definitely the place to be on the Isle of Wight for girls who want to go far in football.”
The club says it is proud of the girls’ achievements and will be following their progress as they begin the next stage of their football journey.
Wight Eagles is also recruiting players for its Under-13 squad ahead of the new season, with girls who are passionate about football encouraged to get in touch with the club.
