O’Neill & Brennan, who have been named on the preferred supplier list for Sir Robert McAlpine to recruit for their upcoming Isle of Wight projects, are beginning the process of seeking local people to fill a number of vacancies.
Sir Robert McAlpine currently have 4 projects planned on the Island over the next 18-24 months – Ryde Academy, Sandown Bay Academy, Christ the King College and Carisbrooke College – which is indicative of the large investments in Isle of Wight education that have been committed to in recent months.
Julian King, director at O’Neill & Brennan’s Fareham office which covers the South East, said:
“This is exciting news because we pride ourselves on providing jobs for local people. We’ve already been told that the client will be requiring everything from labourers to skilled tradesmen in every discipline so we’re relishing the chance to be involved in bringing jobs to the Island and upskilling the existing workforce through our training days and guidance.
“We’ve had individual developments with McAlpine’s in the past where we’ve provided over 100 operatives so the sky’s the limit for job creation on these projects.”
O’Neill & Brennan have a longstanding professional relationship with Sir Robert McAlpine having worked with them on 37 different projects since 2005, supplying hundreds of operatives. Inclusion on this latest PSL means that the companies will be looking to provide jobs to local people on the island for at least the duration of these new developments.
As usual O’Neill & Brennan will be supplying a full range of personnel and will be looking to recruit;
• Labourers
• Bricklayers
• Carpenters
• Plant Operatives
• Handymen
• Painters
• Multi-trade
• Groundworkers
Anyone who would be interested in these local jobs is encouraged to contact Ciaran Hoey on ciaran.hoey@oandbgroup or call 07557 794 446 for details. There are already vacancies for cleaners, gatemen and van drivers.
