This is your weekly round-up of some of the latest court cases heard at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court.

Monday 7th August – Friday 11th August 2023
• Geneeka West, 31, of Church Road, Southampton pleaded guilty to drug driving (BZE). She was disqualified from driving for 12 months, fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs with a £48 surcharge.
• Luke Peasey, 33, of Mary Rose Avenue, Wootton Bridge pleaded guilty to sending by public communication network an offensive / indecent / obscene / menacing message / matter. He was fined £162 and ordered to pay costs of £620 with a £65 surcharge.
• Kai Barnes, 34, of Camden Road in London pleaded guilty to common assault. He was sentenced to 18 month community order with 30 rehabilitation days attached and ordered to pay a fine of £538, compensation of £150, costs of £85 and a £114 surcharge.
• Billy Cokes, 31 of Church Lane in Southampton pleaded guilty to 2 x criminal damage. He was sentenced to an 18 month community order with 60 days alcohol abstinence and monitoring with 15 rehabilitation days and 19 thinking skills programme days attached. He was ordered to pay £575 compensation.
• Luke Cairns, 30, of Pineview Drive in Newport pleaded guilty to drug driving (BZE). He was disqualified from driving for 16 months, fined £250 and ordered to pay costs of £85.
• Michael Phillips, 40, of HMP Winchester pleaded guilty to assault by beating. He was sentenced to 4 weeks in custody to run concurrently with his existing sentence.
• Sarah Adams, 35, of Sandown Road, Sandown pleaded guilty to fraud by false representation. She was given a 18 month community order with 20 rehabilitation days and 100 hours of unpaid work attached. She was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £114 surcharge.
• Jack McLoughlin of Broadwood Lane in Newport admitted failing to comply with the requirements of a community order. His existing order was revoked and he was fined £1,113 for the original offence of drink driving (96). He was also ordered to pay £60 costs.
