This is your weekly round-up of some of the latest court cases heard at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court.

• Matthew Bishop, 64, of Monkton Street, Ryde – speeding at 50mph in a 30mph zone in Newport – fined £100 and given 3 penalty points.
• Nicholas Cottis, 54, of Ashey Park, Ryde – drug driving (cocaine) and driving without insurance – disqualified from driving for 12 months, fined £120, ordered to pay £85 costs and a £96 surcharge.
• Charlie Watson, 19, of Pasfield Close, Waltham Abbey – drug driving (cannabis), driving without insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence – disqualified from driving for 12 months, fined £600, and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £240 surcharge.
• Alfie Mansfield, 24, of Spinnaker Road, Portsmouth – drink driving in Godshill – given a community order with 100 hours unpaid work, disqualified from driving for 36 months, and ordered to pay £400 costs.
• Izzana Brizelden-Blundell, 19, of Linden Road, Newport – assaulting an emergency worker, shop theft and being drunk and disorderly – given a community order with up to 10 days rehabilitation activity, fined £50, ordered to pay £100 compensation and £85 costs.
• Liam Beeney, 34, of Harding Road, Ryde – using threatening or abusive behaviour – fined £80 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £32 surcharge.
• Abdul Howe, 25, of Parkhurst Road, Newport – possession of cannabis in prison – sentenced to 4 weeks’ imprisonment (concurrent) and the drugs were forfeited and destroyed.
• Alex Turner, 48, of Cup & Saucer, Cropredy – drink driving at St Helens – disqualified from driving for 24 months, fined £1000, and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £400 surcharge.
• Derek Thomas, 67, of Gravel Pit Road, Wootton Bridge – speeding at 90mph in a 60mph zone in Newport – fined £320, given 6 penalty points, and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £128 surcharge.
• Joann Poll, 46, of Newport Road, Sandown – stole groceries and alcohol worth £16.70 from Tesco, and on separate occasions stole alcohol and goods worth £48.50, £50.00 and £24.00 from Waitrose – given a community order to January 2027 with up to 15 rehabilitation days and ordered to pay £139.20 compensation.
• Thomas Dollery, 25, of Venner Avenue, Cowes – drove a vehicle with cocaine, benzoylecgonine and ketamine above legal limits – given a community order to April 2027 with up to 10 rehabilitation days and 80 hours unpaid work, disqualified from driving for 25 months, and ordered to pay £85 costs and £114 surcharge.
• Tama Lee, 42, of Parkhurst Road, Newport – exposed himself on two occasions – sentenced to a total of 26 weeks’ imprisonment consecutive to an existing sentence, with a £154 surcharge.
• Luke Burdett, 33, of Spanners Close, Chale Green – carried out a racially aggravated assault – given a community order to April 2028 with up to 35 rehabilitation days and a 4-month exclusion from certain stores, fined £100 and ordered to pay £300 compensation.
• Alex Trent, 32, of Atherley Road, Shanklin – harassed a woman by repeatedly attending her workplace – given a community order to April 2027 with up to 30 rehabilitation days, fined £80, ordered to pay £85 costs and £114 surcharge, and made subject to a restraining order until April 2027.
• Kory Kullander, 32, of Newport Road, Ventnor – drove over the alcohol limit and failed to surrender to court – given a community order to April 2027 with up to 15 rehabilitation days and 180 hours unpaid work, disqualified from driving for 29 months (reduced by 29 weeks if a course is completed), and ordered to pay £85 costs and £114 surcharge.
• Bailey Smith, 26, of no fixed abode – breached a restraining order – sentenced to 20 weeks’ imprisonment.
• Allan Pearce, 60, of Barton Road, Newport – used threatening and abusive behaviour towards multiple people at a pharmacy – given a community order to October 2028 with a 12-month alcohol treatment requirement and up to 35 rehabilitation days, and ordered to pay £800 total compensation.
• Thomas Cornell, 40, of Green Street, Ryde – attempted to steal a jacket worth £59.99 from TK Maxx – fined £40 and ordered to pay £85 costs.
• Terence Perkins, 41, of no fixed abode – was drunk and disorderly in Sandown Road, Lake – fined £40 and ordered to pay £85 costs.
• Joseph Hughes, 39, of Trafalgar Road, Newport – drove over the alcohol limit – disqualified from driving for 36 months, fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs.
• Billie-Joe Malston, 26, of Lea Road, Sandown – stole a bedding set worth £30 from B&M – fined £200 and ordered to pay £30 compensation, £85 costs and £80 surcharge.
• Matthew Gerrard, 51, of Newport Road, Cowes – possessed cocaine – given a 6-month conditional discharge and the drugs were forfeited and destroyed.
• Colin Stretch, 52, of Nelson Crescent, Ryde – drove without insurance – fined £293 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £117 surcharge, with no penalty points imposed due to special reasons.
• Cass O’Neill, 49, of Meadowbrook, Ryde – possessed cannabis – given a 6-month conditional discharge and the drugs were forfeited and destroyed.
• Mark Gifford, 50, of Hillcrest Road, Rookley – drove without insurance – disqualified from driving for 28 days, fined £623 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £249 surcharge.
• Adam Wade, 21, of Eddington Road, Seaview – drove over the alcohol limit – disqualified from driving for 19 months (reduced by 19 weeks if a course is completed), fined £437 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £175 surcharge.
• Bradley Tolfrey, 25, of Newport Street, Ryde – caused criminal damage to a custody suite door – ordered to pay £1000 compensation.
