There are just days remaining for those planning to take part in Walk the Wight 2026 to sign up in time to receive their walker packs by post ahead of the popular Isle of Wight event.
Mountbatten Isle of Wight’s flagship fundraising walk, sponsored by Isle of Wight Festival and Red Funnel, will take place on Sunday 10th May, with thousands expected to take part.
Participants wanting their walker number, event guide and T-shirt delivered to their door, along with any additional merchandise, must register by 12:00 on Thursday 16th April.
Available extras include Walk the Wight caps priced at £15, Mountbatten socks at £7.50, reusable water bottles at £12 and dog bandanas at £5.
Ashleigh Gibbs, Organiser, has said:
“Whether you walk on your own or with kids, grandparents or friends, Walk the Wight is a great excuse to get out, get moving and enjoy the beautiful Isle of Wight together.
“Being part of the atmosphere on the day is incredible. It really captures the community spirit, while raising vital funds for our local hospice.”
Walk the Wight offers a range of routes to suit all abilities, including the full 26-mile challenge, half routes of around 13 miles, the accessible 8-mile Flat Walk and the 4-mile Schools Walk.
Registration costs £15 per person and includes entry to the chosen route, an event pack with walker number and guide, a commemorative medal at the finish line, entertainment along the route and free bus travel on the day. Those who raise more than £500 will also be invited to a special top fundraiser evening.
A wide selection of food traders will also be available along the route.
Those who sign up after 18:00 on Thursday 16th April will still be able to take part but must collect their walker pack from Mountbatten Collection HQ on Saturday 9th May or from their chosen start line on the day, where queues are expected.
Established in 1991 by Bill Bradley and Frank Stevens, Walk the Wight now raises more than £500,000 each year for Mountbatten Isle of Wight.
Mountbatten Isle of Wight provides 24/7 care and support to around 2,500 people every day, including those facing death, dying and bereavement, as well as their families. Around 85% of this care is delivered in homes across the Isle of Wight.
