Ji Nash scored a hat trick as Newport put 5 goals past Totton & Eling at Beatrice Avenue this afternoon (Saturday).
Port began the game on the front foot with Ji Nash opening his account in the 2nd minute (1-0).
The home side doubled their lead in the 14th minute when Michael Thompsett flicked the ball on from a Josh Younie corner for Henry West to bundle the ball over the line (2-0).
Jordan Smith then pulled a goal back for the visitors on the half hour mark by heading in a free kick (2-1).
Ji Nash bagged his brace 3 minutes from half time after being put through by Henry West before rounding the Totton keeper (3-1).

Ji Nash continued to torment the Totton defence in the 2nd half, just losing out in a 1-on-1 with Theo Widger in the Totton goal in the 55th minute.
The Millers came close to pulling a goal back in the 65th minute when Port keeper Pitman was forced to parry a Dennett effort on to the post.
In the 72nd minute, Totton centre forward Harry Yeadon rounded Pitman but somehow put the ball past the upright when presented with an open goal.
Nash scored his hat trick in the 74th minute by knocking the ball in from close range after the Millers’ keeper parried the ball into his path (4-1).

5 minutes later, Joe Craig scored to complete Port’s comprehensive victory (5-1).

East Cowes Vics beat AFC Aldermaston by a 3-goal margin on the road in Berkshire.
Scott Jones opened the scoring for Vics in the final minute of the 1st half by lobbing the ball over the home side’s keeper from close to the halfway line (0-1).
The Victorians doubled their lead in the 62nd minute when a corner was headed across the goal for captain Liam Newbold to apply the finishing touch (0-2)
Ben Cutts then added a 3rd 2 minutes from the full time whistle by dispatching the ball low into the corner of the goal after a defensive error from an Aldermaston defender (0-3).

After the game, Vics manager Alex Smith said:
“I think we were worthy winners. But it wasn’t a simple straightforward 3-0 victory. Aldermaston were very athletic, combative and physical.
“It was tough. As soon as we saw the pitch, we knew it was going to be quite a challenge.”
The Victorians’ victory leaves the East Cowes side 4th in Wessex Division 1, with 32 points from 14 games, 7 points behind leaders New Milton but with 3 games in hand. Vics retain the best points-per-average and defensive record in their division.

YACHTSMEN STUNG BY WASPS IN SOMERSET

Cowes Sports were defeated on their first-ever visit to Wincanton Town.
Wincanton took the lead in the 13th minute when Cowes keeper Hatt could only parry a shot, which was knocked in by Lewis Voizey (1-0).
The Yachtsmen then had the best of the remainder of the 1st half, without finding the finishing touch. Charlie Marsek curled the ball over the crossbar in the 17th minute, Ryan Hughes shot a yard over the right corner of the goal in the 24th, and Marsek had a shot well saved 10 minutes from half time.

Cowes continued to press at the start of the 2nd half and were unlucky not to have been awarded a penalty when a defender handballed a Charlie Martsek cross.
Then – in the 62nd minute – centre forward Scott McFarlane hit the ball under the incoming keeper before striking the upright.
Wincanton extended their lead in the 78th minute when Darren McAlistair beat the offside trap before slotting the ball past Hatt (2-0).
The Wasps grabbed a 3rd goal in the 81st through Ollie Crisp (3-0).
Callum Chase scored a consolation goal for Cowes a minute from full time with a bullet header at the back post to convert a George Carter-Knight free kick (3-1).
