A coroner has opened an inquest into the death of a 76-year-old Shanklin man who was found unresponsive at home last month.
Kenneth Brown, who lived in Green Lane and was originally from Woking, was discovered by his carer on the morning of 20th May.
As previously reported by Island Echo, emergency services attended the address where attempts were made to revive Mr Brown, but he was pronounced dead at 09:03.
Speaking at the time, Police said that whilst Mr Brown’s death was unexpected, it wasn’t deemed suspicious.
A post-mortem examination carried out on 4th June determined the cause of death to be hanging.
Assistant Coroner Daren Samat formally opened and adjourned the inquest with a provisional hearing date of 11th December.
