Police and paramedics responded to a property in Shanklin this morning (Wednesday), where the body of a man in his 70s was discovered.
It was just before 08:30 that emergency services were alerted to a concern for the welfare of a man at an address on Green Lane, near Oaklyn Gardens.
A number of officers attended the scene and established that the man, in his 70s, had died.
It is thought that care workers raised the alarm.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary says that the death is being treated as unexpected, but is not thought to be suspicious.
A file will be prepared for the coroner.
The man’s family have been informed.
