A 31-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm after several people were assaulted during a fight in Ryde last night (Saturday).
Police were called to Jellicoe Close at 21:29 following reports of a fight in progress.
Officers rushed to the scene on blue lights and sirens – at the same time they were responding to disorder in Newport – and it was quickly established that several people had reportedly been assaulted.
Island Echo understands that 1 of the alleged victims was a pregnant woman.
Officers carried out searches of the surrounding area before arresting a 31-year-old woman from Ryde on suspicion of assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
She remains in Police custody at this time.
UPDATE MONDAY – 31-year-old Mia O’Dell, of Wellington Road, has now been charged with assault by beating and common assault.
She has been released from custody and is on bail, to appear before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court, on 15th September.

There are too many incidents of alcohol fuelled violence and anti-social behaviour.
The Council need to take a look at the large number of off licences issued on the Island and remove licences from retailers who do not abide by the law. No second chances if they break the law.
