Four fire engines and a plethora of firefighters are tackling a fire on Cowes High Street this morning (Sunday).
Fire crews from stations across the Isle of Wight are on scene on High Street where fire cordons have been erected.
Island Echo understands that the first 999 calls were made at around 08:50.
A host of firefighters equipped in breathing apparatus are working to tackle the blaze which has broken out down a small side alley.
High Street is blocked between Fat Face and Hurst. However, pedestrians are still able to pass between Hurst and The Cut.
It is unclear at this time as to what has the caused the blaze, or the severity of it.
Hampshire & Isle Wight Fire and Rescue Service has been approached for comment.
UPDATE @ 10:40 – It has been confirmed that crews tackled a fire at a commercial property, just off High Street.
The response followed reports of an alarm sounding and smoke being seeen.
