A photobook featuring stunning images on the Isle of Wight has been donated to Mountbatten for patients and visitors to enjoy.
The book showcases photos taken by Dean Rayner, of Newport, who took them on his phone while trekking around the Island during his lockdown walks.
Unbeknown to Dean, his friend, Lindsay Smith, designed a special book online to exhibit all his pictures.
Dean, who runs a dog walking business, says:
“I was gobsmacked when Lindsay turned up at my front door with the book.
“It started out as something to keep me busy in lockdown but I shared a few of the photos on social media and the response I had was amazing, so I have just kept going.
“I’ve walked or ran over 1,500 miles over the last 11 weeks, I have been all over the Island, mainly on the coastal paths but it really is a beautiful.
“It’s an honour to donate the book to Mountbatten and makes it all so worthwhile.”

Dean has been a long-standing supporter of the hospice, ever since his cousin, Nikki Green, was cared for by Mountbatten before she died in 2015.
Dean adds:
“The staff were absolutely phenomenal – Nikki was looked after so well. My whole family are so grateful and this is just another gesture to say thank you.”
Lindsay decided to make the book for Dean because she was so impressed by his photos. Now it’s at the hospice, Lindsay is even more pleased she made it for him. She said:
“The photos are amazing and I’m so pleased people at Mountbatten will get to enjoy them”.
Well done young man. This hospice is wonderful for the poorly patients and all their visitors too. Wonderful people.
