A public talk exploring the Isle of Wight’s influence on pop and rock music will take place in St Helens later this week.
The event, titled ‘Pop goes the Island’, is being hosted by the St Helens Historical Society on Thursday (16th April) at the Community Centre on Guildford Road.
Local historian and writer Andrew Bradstock will lead the talk, set to begin at 19:30 and focus on the Isle of Wight’s contribution to popular music since the 1950s, including notable bands and musicians who grew up on the Island.
Entry is free for members of the St Helens Historical Society, while non-members will be charged £3. Cash payments only are accepted.
Refreshments will be available on the night, alongside a raffle and an opportunity for attendees to join the society.
