Celebrity TV chef Ainsley Harriott and food journalist Grace Dent have been spotted on the Isle of Wight filming for a forthcoming BBC series.
On Tuesday, the pair were photographed outside the Smoking Lobster in Ventnor and have subsequently been seen filming in Yarmouth. Ainsley and Grace will be sampling the cuisine at various locations on the Island – including a pizza business – for the new series. Grace has already tweeted about the Isle of Wight, seeking suggestions for what to do, eat and see.
Ainsley Harriott has been one of Britain’s favourite TV chefs for almost 3 decades. In 2020, he was awarded an MBE for his services to broadcasting and the culinary arts. Best known for his 21 series of Ready, Steady, Cook, he is considered the master of fresh, fun, accessible cuisine.
Grace Dent is a columnist, broadcaster, and author. She is a restaurant critic for The Guardian and a regular critic on the BBC’s MasterChef UK. She has written 11 novels for teenagers, and her first non-fiction title How to Leave Twitter was published in July 2011.
You would at least presume that they would come and visit the IW in the warmer months and not when the island is as dead as a doe doe.
Not very attractive for potential staycationers and tourists.
BBC don’t make real programs anymore. Just food shows and reality shows. Give all their mates an easy paycheck.
