
A male cyclist is receiving medical care after being knocked off his bike on High Street, Ryde, this evening (Tuesday).
It was approximately 18:15 when emergency services were alerted to the incident, which took place at the crossing of St John’s Road and High Street.
Rapid response officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary as well as Hampshire and Isle of Wight Ambulance Service were seen racing to the scene on blue lights.
The collision, which involves a cyclist and a white Volkswagen Transporter, has blocked the upper half of High Street, forcing its closure.
The force of the impact has caused a bullseye chip on the vehicle’s windscreen, leaving glass debris spread across the busy road.
The injuries sustained are not thought to be life-threatening.
