23-year-old Andrew Crossland, who is alleged to have offered to teach a child to douche and discussed engaging in sexual activities with the boy, has appeared in court.
Crossland, of George Street in Ryde, appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court this morning (Tuesday).
It was heard that he is alleged to have engaged in sexual communication with a person aged under 16 between 22nd April and 26th April last year, whom he did not reasonably believe was over the age of 16.
Liz Miller, prosecuting, informed the court of the details of Crossland’s alleged offending.
It’s said that he used a common social media platform to make contact with the victim, discussing engaging in sexual intercourse with one another and carrying out an act often performed during the preparation of anal sex.
The matter was adjourned to the Isle of Wight Crown Court on 24th August.
Crossland was released on conditional bail until that time.
