Islanders are being asked to consider alternative ways of disposing of garden waste following a spike in the number of call outs to out of control bonfires for the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service.
The fire service has blamed recent hot weather for the increase in mobilisations to bonfires, prompting a tweet about the alternative options available to households.
IWFRS say that disposing of waste by other means than burning is also kinder to the environment and to local neighbours.
