The driver of a Honda Civic that ploughed into a pensioner’s house in Blackwater some 3 months ago is still being sought by Police.
As first reported by Island Echo, it was early on 10th September at around 06:00 that the car – a black Honda Civic – left the carriageway at Blackwater Hollow and collided with a residential property, coming to rest up in the air.
Luckily no one was injured in the single-vehicle smash, which caused substantial damage to the front of the house.
Engineers were called to come and make sure the house was structurally sound before recovery could remove the vehicle.
The driver of the Civic – and his 2 occupants – fled the scene on foot after the elderly homeowner had questioned the passengers. It’s thought that the vehicle had only just transferred ownership in the days before the incident.
Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed that no arrests have been made in relation to the crash and that some 3 months later, enquiries remain ongoing at this time.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police on 101, quoting 44220369111.

…
meaning – “We haven’t bothered investigating it as it isn’t important to us and anyhow, our officers are currently painting rainbows on the patrol cars and all other officers are trawling social media for any signs of pronoun crime.”
Is it possible he is still in the car?
That made me LoL.
If the police named who they were looking for, Joe Public could help…
You assume that they have a name, and you assume they are looking.
Of course they have a name.
If the “ownership had just changed hands” surely this means that some official department would have been informed of the new owner. Unless there was a fraudulent change then the police should go out and arrest the perpetrator. Or will that be too much to expect that they should actually do what we pay them for. If there is a reason as to why they can’t do this then how about a bit of transparency and let us know.
That’s where I left my car
I wonder if the home owner has planning permission for that great big green obscenity of a building in their front garden ?
Container… temporary structure…
That’s where they are probably hiding.
The IOW is a ‘small’ place, someone somewhere must know who, just keeping quiet.
Plus could go down the DVLA route (might take a while, LOL) and was it taxed, if so someone paid for it.
Failing that ‘ears to the ground locally’
Would it be sensible to release the registration number, as then it is likely more people would be able to provide information about the vehicle involved.
That’s not an accident you come out unscathed from too? Wander if it was a mp’s son or someone important. Freemasons do reside here. No tire Marks either so didn’t even try to break lol
Avon wanted to improve their delivery service to Express
Of course, there wouldn’t be any finger prints of the driver on the steering wheel or their name and address on the v5 form that the previous owner should have sent to the DVLA upon sale. Or was the “recent change of ownership” just a lie? At least the scumbag has lost this car.
Do you really think they are bothered about the car. The car obviously wasn’t insured or they would know who it was they obviously didn’t own it or they would know who it was and they left the scene so clearly not bothered at all
If police investigated then would find driver,as others said, did they tax, insure it ?. Maybe put fuel in (not many petrol Stn on IOW) anpr cameras, CCTV,dash cams, drive through, mobile phone use, attendance at hospital/pharmacy/GP. Would of been DNA of at least one person out of three. Police have rough descriptions from elderly chap and seller of car, maybe neighbours had ring door bell etc. All to late now. This poor chap will have to pay for repairs – Insurance maybe but policy premium will now go up and have to pay excess etc. Someone needs to drop names, next time they may well kill someone .
