Dover Park Primary School gathered at All Saints Church in Ryde last Thursday to celebrate its inaugural and unforgettable Christingle Service, raising money for local charity and the church. All Saints was packed to the rafters with children, parents and their families. The children sang modern carols to depict the nativity story, filling the church with their angelic voices and spreading festive cheer to all in attendance. The service was not only a joyful celebration but also an opportunity for the school community to come together and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. Jon Kirby, who joined the school as headteacher in September, has said:
“It was absolutely incredible to have the whole school community together in such a beautiful setting and to celebrate Christmas together. The evening surpassed all expectations”
Mr Kirby would like to express his deepest gratitude to all those who attended the Christingle Service and made it such a memorable event.
“Your presence and support truly made a difference. We are immensely proud of our children for their outstanding performance, confidence and ability to bring joy to all who were present”.
Donations were received from parents and families – £230 will be split equally between All Saints Church and Aspire. Dover Park Primary would also like to thank All Saints Church for allowing them to use their stunning venue and Ryde Co-Op and ‘The Vegetable Cart’ for kindly donating oranges and sweets to make the beautiful Christingles.
