Arrests have been made after group of men allegedly attempted to force entry to a property in East Cowes, with one of those involved reported to have been carrying a knife.
Numerous officers responded at speed into East Cowes at just before 11:00 yesterday morning (Saturday) following reports of a disturbance at an address on York Avenue.
It had been reported that 3 men had been seen attempting to gain entry to a property, with the presence of a knife also reported.
Nobody was injured during the broad daylight incident, and an investigation has been launched to establish the full circumstances.
A 55-year-old man from East Cowes has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
A 24-year-old man from Cowes has also been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and criminal damage to property.
Both men remain in custody at Newport Police Station while enquiries continue.
The third suspect remains at large at this time.
