Cowes RNLI launched in response to a Pan Pan call over concerns for a windsurfer in the Western Solent yesterday evening (Friday).
The station’s B-Class lifeboat, the ‘Sheena Louise’, was tasked to launch at just before 17:10 after concerns were raised for a windsurfer that had not been seen by colleagues for around 20 minutes.
Nearby Hamble Lifeboat, an independent lifeboat organisation, joined Cowes RNLI in the search having heard the Pan Pan call themselves.
Thankfully, the windsurfer was found safe and well and came ashore at Gurnard Beach near Cowes.
