Concerns for the welfare of a woman at Sandown Esplanade prompted a call out for HM Coastguard and the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service earlier this afternoon (Monday).
Emergency services were alerted to the situation at 12:05 with Coastguard Rescue Teams from Bembridge and Ventnor mobilised.
Upon arrival, it was established the casualty had been in the water.
Casualty care was provided ahead of the arrival of paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
Today’s incident follows similar situations in the same area on 1st February and 22nd January this year.
Was it the same person for cries of help. I wonder. Hmmmmm Lockdown is getting the better of some people and their mental health.
well if it was then they should be getting the help that they need x
This is 4-5 times not a woman has been in the sea and been rescued by coastguard surly it’s time this lady was taken into care to help her get over her depression or what ever is troubling her glad she is safe for now
@DavidFord you clearly haven’t suffered with a MH illness. As it isn’t something you can ‘get over’. These things take time, and sadly not enough people care to help.
Sometimes it can take years, it can be a very frightening experience and a lonely one.
I suffer from regular panic attacks for no reason, I can’t pinpoint the reasons, and I get them every day.
Seeing a GP is no use because they have no real understanding, so I just try to ride them out, but I hope this lady finds a way through her problems..
Refreshing to see all genuinely compassionate comments here. There is hope <3
