Islanders of all ages are being encouraged to get their crayons at the ready and take part in a colouring competition as part of the Wight Games Festival, with the deadline now extended until the end of August.
Organisers say the competition is one of the festival’s most accessible activities, with people able to participate without even leaving their homes.
The Wight Games Festival is running until the end of August and is raising support for 3 Isle of Wight good causes – Mountbatten Isle of Wight, Independent Arts and the Isle of Wight NHS Trust Charity.
Festival organiser Mike Christie says the event was always intended to offer something for everyone, describing colouring as the most accessible ‘sport’ on offer.
The competition is open to both adults and youngsters, with 1 adult category and 3 children’s categories.
Each of the colouring sheets reflects the different activities taking place as part of the Wight Games Festival.
The deadline for completed entries has now been extended until 30th August.
Mike Christie, organiser of the Wight Games Festival, has said:
“You don’t even need to leave your home. Why not deliver one of the colouring sheets to a friend or family member to assist them in being part of the Wight Games Festival.
“Download the colouring sheet from the website www.wightgames.co.uk or www.tinyurl.com/bdf3sw7k.”
Printed copies can also be collected from the Independent Arts centre on Newport High Street, while sheets are being made available to patients and visitors at Mountbatten Isle of Wight.
Once completed, entrants can photograph or scan their artwork and submit it to the Wight Games Festival through its website.
Alternatively, completed sheets can be dropped off at Mountbatten Isle of Wight or Independent Arts. Those submitting an entry in person should include their name and contact details on the back.
Islanders are also being encouraged to donate to the Wight Games Festival in support of its 3 chosen charities here.
