HM Coastguard and the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service have responded to reports of concerns for the welfare of a woman in Sandown this lunchtime (Monday).
The alarm was raised shortly before 12:45 when the individual was sighted on the shoreline at Sandown Esplanade.
Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team and Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team were tasked to the scene, with Sandown & Shanklin Independent Lifeboat crew also mustered.
Thankfully, the situation has been safely resolved and the casualty is being conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital by Ambulance.
Search and Rescue teams are standing down from the incident.
