Emergency services are responding to concerns for a person in the water at Sandown this morning (Friday).
A number of police officers are on scene and are now speaking to the individual who is out of the water and safely on the beach near to the Driftwood bar on Culver Parade.
Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team are also in attendance at the incident and are standing by should the situation escalate.
Water rescue gear has been donned.
Sandown & Shanklin Independent Lifeboat has launched and is remaining in close proximity, again standing by should the situation change.
UPDATE @ 11:45 – The person is now away from the water’s edge and is being cared for in a Police vehicle.
Emergency services remain in attendance but are expected to stand down shortly.

A lady and two kids swimming earlier, rather them than me.
Swimming is a good form of exercise.
