The British Heart Foundation’s Furniture and Electrical store in Carisbrooke is set to close later this year, with plans in place to relocate to the current QS store in Newport High Street.
The nationwide charity have confirmed that the lease on the existing store at Taylor Road, Carisbrooke expires in November and therefore they are currently exploring options to relocate to another part of Newport.
A planning application has been submitted to the Isle of Wight Council to seek permission to alter the front elevation and signage of the QS store, which is situated between the High Street and Pyle Street. The application comes following news that Store Twenty One, owners of QS, have been placed into administration.
Although planning has been submitted and QS is advertising a closing down sale, the British Heart Foundation say the deal is not yet set in stone.
Paul Pritchard, Area Manager for the British Heart Foundation, said:
“After four years of successful trading in our Carisbrooke Furniture & Electrical store, I can confirm that the store will be relocating towards the end of this year.
“We are currently looking for new potential premises in Newport and have put in an offer on premises on the High Street but this has not yet been confirmed to go ahead.
“We really appreciate the continued support of the Carisbrooke and wider Isle of Wight community in helping to make our Furniture & Electrical store a success. We hope that they continue to support our relocated store in the future. Every item donated and bought in the store helps the BHF to fund even more life saving heart research”
