The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has landed in the grounds of a nunnery in Ryde this afternoon (Tuesday) in response to a medical incident.
The helicopter has touched down at St Cecilia’s Abbey near Appley.
It’s understood that emergency crews are attending an incident at a property on nearby Appley Rise.
2 ambulances and an Operational Commander from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are in attendance alongside the flying doctors.
The air ambulance was called into action shortly before 13:45.
UPDATE @ 15:14 – The air ambulance has now lifted from the grounds of the Abbey, but has not conveyed a patient.

Why do they send two ambulances plus operational commander for one casualty? Only one ambulance is needed. No wonder other people cannot get an ambulance when needed,
Derek I so hope you are never in the situation that you need such medical help, your comment is disgusting .
Yes it is disgusting he needs to feel what it’s like
Seems like a perfectly reasonable question to me. It does seem that they send two or more ambulances to every incident over here, even when there is only one casualty. That leaves one less ambulance for someone else who might need one.
Because 2 ambulances are needed if it’s cardiac
That is why St Mary’s are in a critical position again.
No one knows what they are doing.
