Islanders looking to learn a new skill, gain qualifications or boost their employment prospects are being encouraged to explore a new programme of adult learning opportunities launching across the Isle of Wight this autumn.
The Isle of Wight Council’s Adult Community Learning team has unveiled its latest programme of workshops and courses, covering subjects ranging from English and maths qualifications to ICT, arts and crafts.
The programme is aimed at adults looking to develop existing skills, try something new or gain qualifications that could help them retrain or return to employment.
Support is also available for Islanders considering their next steps in work, education or training.
Careers appointments can be booked with an information, advice and guidance professional, who can offer help with CV writing, cover letters and application forms.
Advice is also available for those considering a career change or dealing with redundancy, as well as people looking at further education and training opportunities.
Islanders who need help using computers or want to improve their ICT skills can also attend a series of free drop-in sessions.
These will take place on Fridays from 09:30-12:30, with no advance booking required.
The sessions are being held on 18th September, 2nd October, 16th October, 13th November, 27th November and 11th December.
