A legendary name from the golden era of British entertainment is heading to the Isle of Wight this May, as Pat Sharp brings his iconic 80s DJ set to The Balcony, Ryde.
Taking place on 29th May, the event will see Xtreme Vertigo and Hush Production Company transform the historic seafront venue into a full-scale 80s party experience for what organisers hope will mark the start of a new chapter for nightlife in Ryde.
The team behind the well-known Hush Silent Disco Company, known for delivering events at major festivals and venues across the UK, transform the historic seafront venue into a full-scale 80s party experience.
Best known for hosting the iconic TV show Fun House and his long-standing radio career on Capital FM and Heart, Pat Sharp remains one of the most recognisable figures of the decade. His DJ sets are packed with feel-good anthems and nostalgic hits, continuing to draw crowds across the UK.
Pat Sharp said:
“I love playing the Isle of Wight, and the fun starts from the moment I press PLAY! I
can’t wait to see you at the Balcony on the 29th May!”
The event marks a significant moment for The Balcony along Ryde’s Esplanade, a venue with deep roots in the Island’s nightlife scene, which is now undergoing a fresh revival for some events this year.
With a full venue transformation planned, Hush Production Company will install a high-spec sound and lighting show, bringing a modern production edge to the space while celebrating its heritage as one of the Island’s most iconic nightclubs.
Supporting Pat Sharp on the night will be original Balcony DJs Stuart ‘Ruby’ Murray and Rikki McBride, bringing a familiar energy back to the dancefloor.

Brilliant news for the young’uns!! This Island desperately needs some decent nightlife! Where do the young girls go dancing nowadays?!
They don’t, that’s the problem.
The island need more sports and social clubs too.
We need to offer the young ones something to do so they
keep out of trouble.
