4-way temporary traffic lights are causing delays for people heading through Brading today (Monday).
SGN is carrying out emergency repair work on Yarbridge Crossroads.
Traffic is heavy in all directions whilst the work is being undertaken.
It is unclear as to if the work will be done by the end of today.

Gabion cages could be used to support the arch until the full repairs is undertaken.
Tarmac it eh? Oh yeah it’s already tarmac
There’s three sets of temporary traffic lights in Brading as of this morning, with two sets within a hundred metres of each other.
The ones on the road up to the Downs seem to be only because workers (if there are any, never seen them) have left their equipment on the road and we obviously need temporary lights to drive around the metal box/hut.
Would YOU allow your child to be out for eight hours stood on a section of busy road, or in a hole on a busy roadside with ONLY a plastic barrier to protect them from oncoming traffic?
Well, surprisingly it is not just children who feel pain if hit by a car, a truck or lorry.
With maniacs driving so fast they turn over their cars, with the increasing drugged up or drunk low life, then WE have to pay the price of sitting in our cars at lights to protect roadside workers. A small price to pay IF you were the one working on the road.
I have a solution though, Gabion cages would give protection and thus need less traffic lights.
Cheap, safe easy to move.
