The Island’s largest Garden Fair returned for 1 of the most successful weekends yet.
The 22nd fair hosted over 170 Island and mainland nurseries, garden and craft exhibitors, Elizabethan re-enactment and dancing, live falconry displays, dog shows, magic shows, live music, military vehicle and engine displays, alongside kayaking around the moat and much more.
The Wolverton Manor Garden Fair committee were delighted to recently present a cheque to local charity Age UK Isle of Wight for £33,000 at a thank you coffee morning for all of their hard-working volunteers that supported the weekend.
Age UK Isle of Wight provides free and impartial information and advice, welfare benefits advice, dementia care navigation, digital inclusion, help around the home, restorative justice, crisis and community support through their Hospital Project at St Mary’s.
100% of the funds raised from the fair will stay on the Island, directly supporting Age UK Isle of Wight’s Good Neighbour Scheme to continue to provide vital companionship to those with no one to turn to.
Jane Patterson, AgeUKIW Patron, has said:
“We are delighted with the amount raised this year. The money will be put to good use, providing older Islanders who have no one else to turn to, with vital help and support. Thank you so much to all of our volunteers and to everyone that attended making this our most successful show to date.”
