With just 2 weeks left on the West Wight school places consultation, which could result in the closure of All Saints Primary School, over 300 responses have already been received.
There have already been a number of alternative suggestions on the proposed options. These are being welcomed and reviewed and will be fed into ongoing plans.
Councillor Paul Brading, Cabinet member for education, has said:
“I am very pleased to see that we have received in excess of 300 responses so far on the consultation in to West Wight school places.
“I would continue to encourage everybody with an interest in the consultation to respond before it closes at midnight on the 15 April. As we continue to receive alternate options to the council’s preferred option, we will follow-up on them to ensure future decisions taken are fully informed”.
The consultation is underway as there is an oversupply of school places in the West Wight area – a trend which is expected to continue in the coming years.
