Latest figures from NHS England show that another Islander has died from COVID-19 at St Mary’s Hospital – the first since 25th May.
It has been confirmed that the individual passed away on 6th June.
Figures from the Office for National Statistics show that 39 people have died outside of the hospital environment, bringing the Island’s total death toll to 78. 47 hospital recoveries have been recorded, but it is unknown how many people within the community have recovered from COVID-19 after testing positive.
Nationally, the coronavirus crisis is being brought under control with a steady decline in the number of deaths and new cases. Lockdown is being eased at a pace, with further easing from Monda 15th June.

Would the island death rate be as low if we had a fix link.
I think the ferries have done a great job in keeping us safe
Yes, at a cost, a brocken economy….
Seems education is at a loss too………….
Fixed link would mean one point of entry. Much easier to control. If the ferry companies were not so expensive and ran a much more frequent service then I would not care either way. Been stranded on the mainland far too many times. Treated like cattle too many times. Robbed at the ticket office far to many times. Something needs to be done. Current situation is strangling the island. The only saving grace is the fantastic staff.
Hope people are careful with congregating in large groups. Don’t want another lockdown.
Pointless trying to comment here now, too many posts being deleted, so much for freedom of speech.
