The investigation came to light after Island Echo exclusively reported armed police activity in Freshwater on the morning of 23rd September, later revealing that at least one person was arrested for conspiracy to kidnap following the armed raid.
At the time of the incident, Hampshire Constabulary remained tight-lipped about the investigation, however they later revealed the full extent of the enquiries taking place, revealing that Kieran Mace, 26 and of Sandown had been charged with the offence.
Two men, aged 29 and 25 and one women, aged 21, were released on bail until 4th November pending further enquiries following the Freshwater armed arrests (pictured), however are said to be no longer connected with the operation.
Today (Wednesday), Police have confirmed that Gordon Frank McIntosh, 42 and of Sandown, 22-year-old Sean Nicholas Lloyd-Fagan and Scott Trafford Smart, 26, of Shanklin have all been charged with conspiracy to kidnap as well as assault causing actual bodily harm (ABH).
A 47-year-old man remains on bail on suspicion of conspiracy to kidnap and a 19-year-old Freshwater woman is on police bail on suspicion of assisting an offender.
The investigation continues.
