A popular pub on the outskirts of Carisbrooke is to close for 2 weeks, with its owners saying ‘big things are coming’.
The Blacksmiths, situated on Calbourne Road, is 1 of the Island’s most popular pubs and even won Best Pub at the Isle of Wight Awards back in 2021.
Previously known as The Blacksmiths Arms, the pub is to shut on 30th January with it hoped the premises can open once again in time for Valentine’s Day on 14th February.
In the announcement made on their Facebook page, the owners have simply said:
“Big things are coming”.
Nice to hear well done .. but please do something with your car park, your customers pull out onto the main road without careful consideration… so many near misses .. thanks and the 1star Shed Cafe down the road should not be a competition problem .. to your business .

Great food and service every time. Just miss being able to come into the bar for a drink sometimes. Hope you will be re-establishing the drinking area in you lovely old bar. Good luck.
