Parents have been informed that a member of staff at Christ the King College in Newport has tested positive for COVID-19.
In a letter sent out this afternoon, it has been confirmed that a case has been identified and the school leadership team are working with Public Health England to monitor the situation.
It has been confirmed that the member of the school community is a teacher.
Children who have been in prolonged contact with the confirmed case have been informed and are being advised to self-isolate for 14 days. On Monday, the self isolation period is reducing to 10 days however the school says children should continue to follow the current guidance of 14 days, with further communication expected.
UPDATE – It is understood a total of 24 students and 10 staff members are now self-isolating as a result of this latest confirmed case at the school, the fourth in the pandemic.

Should have allowed the school to close early so as children can then discover IF they have symptoms and get a test BEFORE spreading it to visitors and family arriving over Christmas time.
Mid January will be an ‘interesting’ time for the true numbers of cases here to come to the fore, coincidently of course, ‘once’ the big spend over Christmas and New Year is done with.
PS, hope the teacher gets well soon as worrying time as none of us know for sure how we will fare.
‘Teacher’ ? So not a teacher?

Have to be elderly to understand that too.
Have to be either young or illiterate to understand you. A watch is a timepiece usually worn on the wrist. You is self explanatory. I hope that when talking you dont mess about.
