Hundreds of people headed to Shorwell on Saturday (13th June) for the village’s annual Midsummer Fair, with a packed programme of entertainment helping to bring the community together once again.
Visitors enjoyed a variety of stalls, refreshments and attractions throughout the afternoon, while the main arena hosted displays by the SBW Raptors, a dog show, wheelbarrow racing and children’s races.
Live music was provided by Oyster Girls and Slante Va, adding to the atmosphere at the popular event.
The Shorwell 10k was once again incorporated into the fair by Isle of Wight Road Runners, attracting runners and supporters to the village.
Following the event, organisers thanked the committee members and volunteers whose efforts made the fair possible, as well as those who helped set up the event, ran stalls, baked cakes and donated items.
Special thanks were also extended to the owners of Wolverton for allowing the grounds to be used for the annual celebration.
Organisers said they had received plenty of positive feedback and added that the Midsummer Fair “definitely brings our community together”.
Island Echo was there to capture some of the sights from the day…
