A £250milion superyacht belonging to a member of the United Arab Emirates royal family has been spotted off East Cowes this afternoon (Tuesday).
It is understood that the vessel belongs to Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan – the son of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founder and 1st President of the United Arab Emirates. Sheikh Tahnoun himself is currently the Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi.
The 125m superyacht started out as a Russian research vessel in the 1990s before being converted by Elefsis Shipyards in Greece in 2014/2015.
It is thought that Maryah can accommodate 54 guests across 6 decks in addition to 60 members of staff. She also boasts a helipad.

If they need someone to make up the numbers for dinner I can make myself available…
So sheeps eyeballs is your thing. Best take a spoon as they pop with a fork.
Bit like boiled eggs aren’t they?
I doubt a sheep would do a swap
Good to see the money we pay for fuel is being put to good use
Where are those climate protestors who keep blocking the roads? I would have thought they would all get into a dinghy and tie themselves to the superyacht. After all, imagine how much this yacht guzzles.
So pleased someone has money…
Would be the perfect replacement for the Unreliable
Floating Bridge.
IW Council should be able to afford it, not only do they charge
one of the Highest Council taxes in England, they charge
24/7 365 days a year parking charges along seafronts, not
forgetting 50p to have a p*ss in the Toilets in Sandown by the
Sundial cafe.
Can’t image that the Russian research ship looked anything like that, surely it would have be better to start from scratch.
ye sound like bollocks to me..
I’ll keep to Sultan Sheikh!
I wonder if they will be dropping anything off to the local food banks
