Seaview Post Office is set to re-open at Seaview Pharmacy on Pier Road, The Post Office has announced.
The branch has been closed since March 2016 following the resignation of the Postmaster and the withdrawal of the premises for Post Office use. In order to restore a service to customers, The Post Office have made the decision to re-open at this new, nearby location.
Post Office services will be offered from a till integrated into the retail counter. Service will be available throughout the pharmacy’s opening hours: Monday – Friday: 09:00-13:00 and 14:15-17:30; Saturday: 09:00-12:45. It is hoped the new branch can open in October.
Sue Whittall, Regional Network Manager, said:
“We are delighted to be restoring Post Office services to Seaview. Just like the vast majority of Post Office branches, Seaview will be run alongside the operator’s retail businesses, which helps the sustainability of the branch and its long-term future.”
The Post Office is now inviting customers and interested parties to give their comments on the plan in a 6-week public consultation. During the public consultation, Post Office Ltd welcomes feedback on any issues customers would like considered before a final decision is taken on this proposal. The consultation will close on 27th September.
