ryderowingteamThe Wightlink-sponsored Ryde Rowing Club are all set to take a large team to the final coastal event of the season this weekend, the South Coast Rowing Championships being staged in Swanage, Dorset.

On the Saturday Ryde’s Hants & Dorset ARA Championship winning Men’s Junior Senior Four of Ollie Gove, Stephen Johnson, Adam Edwards and James Cleary with cox Sam Brading have been selected to represent their Association in the Championship event – the 37th time the Club has been given this honour.

Also competing on the Saturday in the open, non-championship events – are a Men’s Senior Four, a Ladies Senior Four, a Men’s Coastal Junior Four and two Men’s Novice Fours.

The Clubs J15 Boys squad will compete on the Sunday in the Junior and Small Boat Regatta – where they face the handicap of have to race in the J16 events as there are no events for their age group. They will be contesting the Boys J16 Coxed Quad with two crews, the Boys J16 Doubles with two crews and have a sculler in the boys J16 single sculls.
