Local actor, comedian, singer and director Kim Joyce will share stories from his varied showbusiness career when St Helens Historical Society begins its new season this week.
The local resident will be the guest speaker at the society’s first meeting of the 2026/27 season on Thursday (17th September), reflecting on a career spanning stage, television, comedy and music.
Kim’s acting credits range from Shakespeare and George Bernard Shaw to the popular television sitcom ’Allo ’Allo, while he has worked alongside names including Sir John Gielgud, Jim Davidson, Sandy Powell and Dolly Parton.
His numerous television appearances include The House of Eliott, Casualty and Strange But True?, while he also toured with the hit musical Buddy.
Away from acting, Kim has extensive experience as a director and choreographer, working on productions in Britain, Europe and the Middle East. His career has also included working as a nightclub comedian and singer.
The talk will take place at St Helens Community Centre in Guildford Road, St Helens, PO33 1UH, beginning at 19:30.
Entry is free for members of St Helens Historical Society and £3 for non-members, with payment by cash only.
Refreshments and a raffle will also be available during the evening, while visitors will have the opportunity to join the society.
Membership costs £10 and includes free admission to all of the society’s speaker events for the remainder of the 2026/27 season.
