This is your weekly round-up of some of the latest court cases heard at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court.

- David Steele, 63, of Whylands Crescent, Worthing – admitted being drunk and disorderly in Ryde. He was fined £146 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £58 surcharge.
- Darren Cook, 41, of Gurnard Pines, Cowes – admitted possessing cannabis. He was fined £80 and ordered to pay £85 costs. The cannabis was ordered to be forfeited and destroyed.
- Levi Bellamy, 27, of Fort Street, Sandown – admitted possessing 2,100mg of pregabalin and 600mg of gabapentin, both Class C controlled drugs, and using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress. He was fined £40 for each drug offence and £80 for the public order offence, and ordered to pay £85 costs. The pregabalin and gabapentin were ordered to be forfeited and destroyed.
- Conor Pattrick, 32, of High Street, Freshwater – admitted driving while disqualified and using a motor vehicle without third-party insurance. He was given a community order until 10th September 2027, including up to 10 rehabilitation activity days, fined £80 and ordered to pay £85 costs. He was disqualified from driving for 27 months. The insurance offence attracted no separate penalty and his driving record was endorsed with no points.
- Roxanne Findlay, 34, of Sunset Close, Freshwater – admitted stealing steaks and beer worth £37.10 from Sainsbury’s, food and alcohol worth £42.45 from Tesco, groceries from Tesco and failing to surrender to court bail. She was given a community order until 7th September 2027, including 6 months of drug rehabilitation, 12 months of mental health treatment comprising 12 sessions, and up to 8 rehabilitation activity days. She was ordered to pay compensation of £18.55, £42.45 and £20 respectively for the theft offences. There was no separate penalty for failing to surrender.
- Tyson Betts, 39, of Clarence Road, East Cowes – admitted sending a grossly offensive, indecent, obscene or menacing message over a public electronic communications network. He was given a community order until 10th September 2028, including 6 months of alcohol treatment and up to 20 rehabilitation activity days. He was also fined £80 and ordered to pay £85 costs.
- Jamie Matlock, 45, of Hope Mead, Newchurch – admitted stealing sausages and a sandwich worth £6.50 from Southern Co-op, stealing 6 packs of steak worth £40 from Sainsbury’s and twice breaching a criminal behaviour order by entering shops in Sandown without using a basket. He was ordered to pay compensation of £6.50 and £40 for the thefts. He was jailed for 8 weeks for each breach of the criminal behaviour order, with one term concurrent and the other consecutive to a sentence for an earlier theft. The court recorded a total custodial period of 6 months and 20 weeks.
- Daniel Arthurs, 38, of Besant Close, London – admitted possessing cannabis and assault by beating. He was given a community order until 10th March 2028, including 12 months of alcohol treatment and up to 25 rehabilitation activity days, and ordered to pay £85 costs. The cannabis was ordered to be forfeited and destroyed.
