An inquest has been opened and adjourned following the death of a local woman, who was discovered by children at her home in Newport earlier this year.
The inquest into the death of 45-year-old Tracey Clark, of Berry Close in Newport, was opened at the Isle of Wight Coroners Court earlier this week (Tuesday).
The court heard how on 25th April, Ms Clark was found unresponsive at her home address on Pan Estate.
Island Echo understands that it was a group of children who alerted emergency crews.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary and the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service were mobilised to the scene, but sadly nothing could be done to save Ms Clark’s life.
A post-mortem examination conducted by Dr Adnan Al-Badri at St Mary’s Hospital on 7th May gave the cause of death as cardiac arrhythmia caused by a venlafaxine overdose.
The inquest was adjourned to the provisional date of 15th March 2027.
HM Senior Coroner Caroline Sumeray passed on condolences to Tracey’s family.
A coroner will hold an inquest if: the cause of death is still unknown, the person might have died a violent or unnatural death or the person might have died in prison or police custody.
