Staff shortages mean that Wightlink will be operating a revised timetable on its Yarmouth-Lymington car ferry service tomorrow (Tuesday) and again on Wednesday.
The cross-Solent operator says that a lack of an essential member of the crew means fewer ferries can operate.
It’s unclear how many sailings have been cancelled or adjusted, as Wightlink is directing customers to simply look at the live status for sailings – rather than listing affected crossings.
Ferries are listed as operating from Yarmouth at 06:20, 08:45, 11:05, 13:05, 15:05, 17:05, 19:05 and 20:50. From Lymington, crossings will depart at 05:30, 07:45, 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 16:00, 18:00 and 20:00.

I don’t believe a word of it, they simply want full boats instead of crossing with half empty boats….now summer is coming to an end there’s going to be a lot more of this unreliable so-called service…
Exactly. Time to build a bridge.
Time you gave it a rest.
Yes, Build a bridge to JERSEY imo.
Service is worse now than in BR days. When we lived in West Wight (pre-privatisation) there was a regular and reliable hourly service on weekday in the winter. I cant ever remember them cancelling due to staff shortages. Ot was only really bad weather or thick fog that caused cancellations or delays. And there were connections with the trains as well. But hey ho this is progress!
AGREE, The old BR SEALINK ferrys run like clockwork in ALL weathers from Ryde pier head.
Happy days
I think they were even every 30mins once.
Whats the betting their open for business as usual for the lycra brigade on the weekend where they can make a swift killing then cancellations again next week.
I find it hard to believe one member of staff can affect the sailings .
It would if its the “driver”!!
Plenty of staff for the Race over the weekend, they are even putting out press releases about how organised they are for the pre-booked full boats whilst we have to juggle our plans because they cannot be bothered to employ a couple of extra staff willing to do the jobs required! How about BOTH ferry companies start to work FOR the Island instead of against it!
