Reform UK now has 15 chair and vice-chair committee roles within the Isle of Wight Council, the most of any group.
Councillors David Llewellyn, James Whelan, Tony Barry, Frank Brown and Bill Nigh have been elected chairs of 8 panels, including the children’s services, education, and skills and licensing committees.
The next largest group, Island First Network – comprising 5 former Alliance group members and new independent councillor Jules Hayward, has 5 chairs.
The roles, voted on at Wednesday’s full council meeting, are as follows:

Wonder why?
Historically, the Isle of Wight Council have frequently been described as somewhere between Inept and Incompetent.
With all these newly elected reform councillors, many of whom have zero experience of council office,.. It will be interesting to see if, in the coming months and years, there is any sign of improvement.
Somehow, I very much doubt it….
