The Red Arrows – the RAF’s skilled display team – entertained crowds of thousands this evening (Thursday) as part of this year’s Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week 2016.
At just before 19:30 the brightly coloured red jets swooped up the River Medina and over the Solent for a thrilling display in the skies above East and West Cowes.
In contrast to the poor weather conditions of 2015, the sun was shining for this year’s display allowing for a full performance, much to the joy of spectators.
Tourists and locals alike crammed onto East Cowes Esplanade and throughout Cowes to catch a glimpse of the famous team, who have traditionally displayed prior to the annual firework finale on the Friday of Cowes Week.
A RAF Typhoon will display in the skies above Cowes at 19:30 tomorrow (Friday) ahead of the annual traditional fireworks display at 21:30.
