Catherine, the Princess of Wales, has been diagnosed with cancer and is receiving chemotherapy, it has been announced this evening (Friday). It has been revealed that the Princess is battling a form of cancer – but details on the specific type of cancer have not been revealed. Her diagnosis will send shock waves around the world, especially as the devastating development comes just 18 months after the death of Queen Elizabeth II and 8 weeks after King Charles III’s own cancer diagnosis. In January, 42-year-old Catherine was admitted to hospital for successful abdominal surgery. Initially, it was thought her condition was non-cancerous but tests after the operation found cancer had been present. Since that time, there has been much speculation about her condition and comments on her thin appearance. There has been controversy over a photoshopped family photo. The Princess of Wales was born at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading in 1982. In 2011, she married the-then future Prince of Wales, William, and has gone on to have 3 children; George, Charlotte and Louis. Following the Queen’s death in September 2022, William and Kate – as she is often still referred – became Prince and Princess of Wales and are heirs to the throne. The couple last visited the Isle of Wight in August 2019 when they took part in the King’s Cup off Cowes.
