Newchurch Male Voice Choir recently presented a £700 Cheque to Age UK Isle of Wight following generous donations from a special charity concert in partnership with Cotswold Male Voice Choir.
The concert, held at St Saviour-on-the-Cliff Church in Shanklin, brought together the Island’s own Newchurch Male Voice Choir and the visiting Cotswold Male Voice Choir for an evening of music in support of Age UK Isle of Wight.
The event marked the Cotswold Male Voice Choir’s first visit to the Isle of Wight, hosted by Newchurch Male Voice Choir, and featured a wide-ranging programme of songs including traditional favourites, hymns, and a joint performance of Elvis Presley’s American Trilogy.
Following the success of the evening, representatives from Newchurch Male Voice Choir visited Age UK Isle of Wight to present the cheque of £700, which was raised through a retiring collection at the charity concert and from the choir’s Christmas concert at Brighstone.
Age UK Isle of Wight is an independent local charity supporting older people, their families and carers across the Island. The money raised will help the charity continue providing vital services, information, support and companionship to older Island residents.
