The Newchurch Male Voice Choir struck the right note during a special concert at Bembridge Fort’s Magazine Theatre, helping to raise £350 for the Bembridge Fort Trust.
The performance took place inside the historic theatre space within the fort, where audience members praised the quality of the sound and the atmosphere created by the unique setting.
Funds raised through a retiring collection will support the Bembridge Fort Trust’s ongoing efforts to restore the fort and recreate it in keeping with its original layout.
Bob Cooper has said:
“Again the power of music has brought much pleasure to our audience and more funds for the Fort Trust to continue their work.
“The Fort is becoming a special place for this type of entertainment and a real place of historical interest.”
Bembridge Fort has increasingly become a venue for community events alongside its role as one of the Isle of Wight’s most significant historic attractions.
